Indian Muslim leader and president of Pakistan, former General Pervez Musharraf. He came to the front of world news with the terrorist attack of 9/11/2001 on the U.S. In a deft balancing act, he has sided with Western nations and allowed the U.S. to use Pakistan's airspace and some bases at the same time as placating outraged militant Muslims in his nation, a country of 140 million.
The middle of three sons of a civil servant, Musharraf moved to Pakistan with his family as a child, growing up in Karachi. He entered the Pakistan Military Academy in 1961 and joined the army three years later. After fighting in two wars with India, he was appointed army chief. On 10/12/1999, he led a coup that ousted the civilian government of P.M. Nawaz Sharif, promising to clean up corruption and return Pakistan to a democracy.
Musharraf marred Sheba by formal arrangement in 1968; they have two kids. He remains athletic, playing tennis, squash, badminton and golf.
In the aftermath of the death of opposition leader Benazir Bhutto, his party lost the elections held on February 18, 2008 in Pakistan but he vowed that he would work with the new Parliament.

The visiting Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf has become younger by two years as per his official birth certificate which was handed over to him on Sunday by Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh. The certificate, prepared by the New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) after scouring through pages of old records maintained at Lala Girdharilal Maternity Hospital here, shows that in all possibility the Pakistan President was born on July 22, 1945. The official website of the Pakistan President states his date of birth as
August 11, 1943 but the NDMC could not trace any entry for that date. As per three NDMC entries, two were of male children born on August 11, 1942
and July 22, 1945 who were identified as ‘son of Musharraf’. The third entry was for a girl child born on July 19, 1941, identified as ‘daughter of Musharraf’.
While the first entry may be that of the Pakistan President’s elder brother Javed, the second entry indicates towards Pervez Musharraf. In fact, during their visit to the capital last month, Musharraf’s mother
Begum Zarin Musharraf and brother Javed had visited the hospital and expressed the desire to get the birth certificates of both Javed and Pervez. “Begum Zarin provided a few details to start the search,” says Ms Indira Yadav, the hospital’s medical superintendent. She said that her sons, Javed and Pervez, were born in this hospital on July 19, 1941 and August 11, 1943,
respectively, adds Ms Yadav.
When NDMC officials and hospital staff checked old records, they were unable to find matching records and thought that Begum Zarin may have forgotten the
correct date. However, they found entries closest to the dates she mentioned and concluded that those were possibly the entries for the Pakistan President and his elder siblings. In January 2007, on the Political Astrology List Amer Abbas gave this information: 3:19 pm, August 11, 1942 no source.
