I f you already have a given name, you can use this information too. Looking at the personality traits, you may be able to find characteristics you like more than others in your name. Being able to refine those traits is what this book can show you. Working on the strengths and accepting the challenges with the knowledge that you can make those tests in life better by realizing the potential hazards your name has brought you can be a life altering experience.
Looking at the name in an impartial way, you can separate the negative from the positive features and change your life for the better.
At different times in our lives, we use other names such as nicknames, married names and some are fortunate enough to use stage names. All these names, when taken, add to or take away from the characteristics of our lives.
Be diligent in deciding what name you use. It can make a positive impact or it can add to your problems.
Women usually take their husband’s name when they get married. They need to look the name over before they take it. Then they can make an informed decision as to whether they want to keep their maiden name or assume their husband’s.
Looking at my maiden name Da Juana Salsbury, I had new beginnings on what seemed a daily basis caused by the double “S’s” and the four “A’s.” In taking the Byrd name instead, I allowed myself the luxury of making a more firm foundation for my life by adding another “D” to the name. Now, I begin and end with that sturdy letter.
Sometimes, with marriage, divorce comes. This brings another level to the characteristics of the name. In making a decision whether to continue using the former married name or change back to the maiden name, you should look at how each name will affect you.
Not particularly loving my middle name, I chose to use my maiden first initial instead. This added more humanitarian efforts to my life along with new beginnings.
Stage names and nicknames should bring more consideration to what you want in life. In doing so, you will help yourself to grow in the ways you need.
If a nickname is not to your liking, then change it. This is your right. Just because we were given a nickname does not mean we have to stay with it. A court order is only needed when you change the name on your birth certificate.
Use this book to help you in your quest for knowledge. It can help you obtain and maintain a wonderful life.
